Goodyear – A True Premium Tire Manufacturer
Goodyear is one of the four largest tire manufacturers in the world. Its tires are used by many well-known automotive brands, including Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Ford, Porsche, and Land Rover, demonstrating the recognized quality and durability of Goodyear tires.
Founded in America in the late 19th century, the company has distinguished itself through quality and continuous innovation throughout its history. It has been supplying tires to automobile manufacturers since 1907, when Henry Ford ordered 1,200 sets of Goodyear tires for the first Model T.
Thanks to its strong marketing and high-quality products, Goodyear is likely one of the most recognizable tire brands among drivers. In addition to passenger car tires, Goodyear manufactures tires for virtually every type of vehicle, from bicycles and aircraft to lunar rovers. In 1971, the rover sent to the Moon as part of the Apollo 14 Moon Mission landed on Goodyear tires.
Today, Goodyear tires are known for their advanced technologies, excellent driving performance, and durability. This reputation is supported both by automotive manufacturers that use Goodyear tires as original equipment and by the company’s long-standing involvement in motorsports.
3 Reasons to Choose Goodyear Tires
Goodyear – A Pioneer in Tire TechnologyReliable Quality
Goodyear’s extensive experience and collaboration with world-leading companies in both the automotive industry and motorsports have proven that it is truly a top-tier tire manufacturer. To ensure quality, the company tests its tires across more than 50 criteria, giving you confidence that Goodyear tires offer some of the best quality available in their price range.
Cutting-Edge Technologies
Goodyear tires always incorporate the latest proprietary technologies, designed to deliver excellent driving performance and durability while keeping tire noise and fuel consumption as low as possible. Through continuous innovation, the company achieves near-unmatched performance in all of these areas.
Focus on the Environment
Over the years, Goodyear has introduced numerous improvements and innovations to reduce the environmental impact of its tires during both production and use. Over the last two decades, the company has developed new tire compounds with a lower environmental footprint, and in 2015 it even introduced a concept for tires capable of generating electrical energy.
Goodyear’s origins date back to 1833, when the then 33-year-old Charles Goodyear began searching for new applications for rubber. Experimenting in his home kitchen, he accidentally discovered a heat-treatment process that significantly improved rubber’s properties. In 1841, he patented this process under the name vulcanization.
The company itself was not officially established until 1898, when Frank Seiberling opened the first manufacturing facility bearing the Goodyear name. Initially, the company produced tires only for carriages and bicycles, but automobile tires were added to the product lineup the following year. Shortly thereafter, Goodyear’s iconic winged-foot logo was unveiled for the first time at the New York Auto Show, and it remains the brand’s symbol today.
